Gold Coast International Airport (IATA: OOL; ICAO: YBCG), also known as Coolangatta Airport, is the international airport in Gold Coast, about 100 km away from Brisbane, in Australia. It is located concretely in the suburb of Bilinga and the runway is located between two states: Queensland and New South Wales, which in the Summer are in two different time zones. OOL Airport operates on Queensland time during all the year (year-round AEST/UTC+10).

OOL Airport has one unique Terminal. The Terminal building is divided in various areas: 

International Arrivals area

With the International Baggage collection for the Baggage reclaim, and various services and facilities. 

Domestic Arrivals area

with Baggage services, Domestic Baggage collection, Qantas Club, Virgin Lounge and many other services and facilities within this space.

Check-in and Boarding Gates area

The Check-in area is located in the middle of the building and the gates are divided into Gate 8-9, Gate 6-7, Gate 5, Gate 4, Gate 3 and Gate 1-2.

Entrance and transport access area

With 4 entrance doors and 4 exit doors, with the Taxi rank area and the Bus stop. Also there is the passengers pick up and drop off area.


Within the Terminal you can find restaurants, WiFi access, ATMs, Currency exchange, Tour operators, retail stores, dutty free and several stores, pharmacies, medical assistance, pharmacies etc… And the following Services and Facilities:

Virgin Australia Lounge

It is an exclusive lounge next to the Gates 1 and 2 and it has a great atmosphere to work, socialise and relax while you wait for your Virgin Australia or Air New Zealand boarding. It is an available service for Velocity Platinum Gold and partner airline reciprocal status members, Virgin Australia lounge members and Single Entry pass holders. There you can enjoy of a Luke Mangan buffet menu, all day of barista coffee, premium wines and beer selection (after 11:00h) with WiFi access, business services, bathroom and shower, among other services.

The Qantas Club

It is located after the security check-in and it offers a relaxing business area where to wait for the boarding. It has comfortable seats with full buffet menu, refreshments included with a barista service, premium beers and wines, business facilities (with iMac computers, high speed Wifi, pc and printers, meeting rooms and showers). There is a place for kids as well, the Qantas Club Family Zone with iMacs, Sony Playstation and Hinkler Books. It is available to Qantas Club and partner members travelling with Qantas or Jetstar.

Tell your airline or travel agent in advance about your disability and the assistance you would need. The airport has several disabled toilet amenities with brail signs, for wheelchairs and for hearing impaired passengers.

Travelling with Kids

some airlines have special child meals wich need to be requested when you make the reservation, other airlines have just some fixed meals. At OOL Airport you’ll find Toilets with parents’ rooms in the Check-in area and at the Departures halls.
